Mt Hood is located east of Portland. As Oregon's highest mountain, a little over 11,000 feet, it has year round skiing on its glaciers. The Multnomah Indians called it Wy'east. At present, it is considered a dormant volcano but potentially active. Hidden among the trees, Lost Lake, a popular getaway, gives us a spectacular view of the mountain.
